How Hearthhall works

From the first invite link to the parts nobody finds on their own.

Nothing here is a manual you have to read first. Every page stands on its own, and the site tells you what a screen does when you are on it — this is for what is worth knowing before you go looking, and the handful of things that are genuinely not obvious.

Running a game

Making the campaign, deciding what kind it is, getting people in, and what each of them will be able to do once they are.

The things you do every week

Writing, playing, and the four features that carry most of a campaign.

The world and the table

Maps, history, and the parts that only some campaigns get.

Your account

Settings, privacy, and getting your writing back out again.

None of this needs reading first

An account is free, a campaign is private the moment it exists, and the spell and monster reference is readable without either.

Or read the spells and monsters without signing up for anything.

This guide describes the site as it is today. What changed recently is on the changelog, and what has not been built yet is on the roadmap. If something here does not match what you see, the site is right and this page is wrong — say so.
